Deals are making for Fifty Shades Of Grey‘s Dakota Johnson to star with The Danish Girl‘s Matthias Schoenaerts in The Sound Of Metal, a drama that will mark the directorial debut of Darius Marder, who is best known for his collaborations with filmmaker Derek Cianfrance including co-writing The Place Beyond The Pines. Michael Costigan and Ben Leclair are producing.
Dakota Johnson will play a singer in a band, and Schoenaerts plays the drummer. Everything changes when he begins to lose his hearing and has to come to grips with a future that will be filled with silence.
The film is in the process of being set for financing, but the plan is to shoot in August.
